Maxon Latex Bulb

The Maxon Latex Inflation Bulb is a critical component of manual sphygmomanometers (blood pressure monitors). It serves as the hand-operated pump that pressurizes the cuff to occlude the artery during a blood pressure reading.

Design & Components

• Material: Made from high-grade natural rubber latex, designed for thousands of compressions without losing its shape or elasticity.
• Air Release Valve: Most bulbs are paired with a chrome-plated brass or stainless steel thumb screw valve. This allows for precise control over the deflation rate (ideally 2–3 mmHg per second).
• End Valve: A small one-way intake valve at the base of the bulb allows air to enter during the release of the grip while preventing it from escaping during the squeeze.
